Holiday workshops

During the school holidays, our team organise a range of fun activities across the region for young people aged 9 to 18. These are a great way to overcome isolation, meet like minded people, learn something new, have fun, build confidence and ultimately improve wellbeing.

Depending on the activity, sessions are held at our Maidstone Wellbeing Centre or at leisure centres, local halls or community centres across the region. We endeavour to choose venues which can be easily accessed by public transport. We arrange activities for a wide range of hobbies and interests including chess, water sports and calligraphy.  Our own Wellbeing Coaches are available throughout to provide any additional mental health signposting and identify further support.

For all of our activities, places must be booked in advanced using the form below and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

If your child would benefit from more intensive wellbeing support, please take a look at our Wellbeing and Resilience Action Plans.

All materials will be provided and there is no experience necessary to take part. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy!

Tuesday 17th Feb – Wednesday 18th Feb | 2pm to 3.30pm | Kent History and Library Centre, James Whatman Way, Maidstone, ME14 1LQ

Creative story telling. This is a fun and relaxed 2 day workshop with children creating their own creative story. We will be using the resources in the library, making props and ultimately presenting our own fictional stories to each other. As always, our Wellbeing Coaches will be there throughout the session to provide any additional support as needed.

In the first session, we will be looking for inspiration, creating characters and putting together vision boards for the background of our stories. In the second session, children will be able to finish up their stories and present them to each other. Everyone will be able to take all their props home with them so they can share their story with their families and friends!

This activity is suitable for ages 9 to 12. Parents/carers are not required to remain on site for this activity but we do ask that you collect your children promptly at 3.30pm.
