Support for students
We offer a range of courses for young people which can be delivered at schools and we can also arrange 1-2-1 wellbeing support for young people who would benefit from more personalised and intensive mental health support. Our team are already working in primary and secondary schools across Maidstone, Ashford and Swale and have an excellent track record of providing outcome driven interventions to young people aged 9-18.
Below is an overview of our activities for young people but full details can be viewed on our youth services page.
Whilst we do sometimes have funding available to provide these free of charge, they can also be purchased as standalone packages. If you are interested in finding out more or would like to book any of the sessions, please complete the form below and a member of our team will be in touch.
Managing Me
This is a structured, 6 week emotional understanding course for young people aged 9 to 18. We will explore healthy coping strategies and proactive ways that they can maintain their wellbeing and each participant receives a handbook to keep with them.
Bounce Back
This is a structured, 6 week emotional resilience course for young people aged 9 to 18. Through interactive and engaging activities the participants look at self esteem, who they are as an individual, anxiety and how to develop positive coping strategies which will enhance their resilience and ultimately help them manage the challenges they may be facing now and in future life. Each participant also receives a handbook to keep with them.
Taming my Temper
This is a structured, 6 week course specifically designed for young people aged 11-18 that struggle to manage their emotions and often present as angry.
The sessions look at the causes of negative emotional behaviour and anger responses; we then explore ways to minimise these negative emotions and alternative ways to cope and remain calm.
Wellbeing and Resilience Action Plans
This is a series of personalised 1-2-1 wellbeing coaching sessions. The sessions aim to provide the young person with targeted support for the areas of life they are finding challenging – this might be school life, friends, identity or family relationships. A designated Wellbeing Coach will tailor the sessions to their specific needs and help them to take steps to boost their confidence, emotional resilience and self esteem. We will work with the young person to take proactive steps and develop effective coping skills to help them manage life’s ups and downs. The programme lasts between 6 and 11 sessions with each session lasting 50 minutes.
Look out
During this 1 hour course, young people will learn how to recognise the signs that they or a friend might be struggling with their mental health. We will explore how they can support each other and where they can get further help.
Everyone also receives a booklet to take away with them – designed to fit in their blazer pocket – which details the key takeaways from the session as well as other organisations which can help them in a crisis.
