Walk and talk
Thanks to funding from Active Kent and KCC, we are launching a new 6 week course in Maidstone, specifically for adult smokers, who are looking to improve their mental and physical health and want to feel more confident in their ability to cut down and ultimately quit smoking for good.
This course will start on Wednesday 2nd April from 1pm to 3pm and run each week until 7th May.
Each of the two hour sessions in this course will be broken down into two parts.
The first half of each session, will be a circular walk around the local area. This helps to release endorphins, improve physical and mental health and reduce the impact of stress and anxiety by encouraging us to be mindful of our surroundings.
The second half of each session will take place back at our Maidstone Wellbeing Centre. After our walk, our Wellbeing Coaches will facilitate group discussions around stress management, healthy coping strategies, goal setting and thinking styles.
We will also be able to provide signposting and referrals to the One You Stop Smoking service to further assist you in your goal to quit smoking.
As a result of this course, you:
- will benefit from improved wellbeing
- have a greater understanding of stress and anxiety
- have increased knowledge of healthy coping strategies that can be used instead of smoking
- feel more confident to set a date to stop smoking
- be more likely to succeed in your goal of quitting!
To register for this course starting on the 2nd April, please use the form below and a member of our team will be in touch to confirm your place.
