Women’s running group

Our new 8-week women’s running group is designed especially for beginners who want to build confidence, improve fitness and feel supported every step of the way.


Whether you’ve never run before or you’re returning after a break, our qualified running instructor will focus on getting everyone running together at a comfortable pace in a safe, welcoming environment.

Alongside the group run, our expert team will also provide dedicated wellbeing support before we set off to help you feel stronger not just physically, but mentally too.


When do sessions start?

This is an 8 week course and sessions will take place weekly from Thursday 14th May until the 2nd July.

How long does each session last?

We’ll meet at 9.30am for a 9.45am start. The session will end at 11.15am.

What happens during the session?

Each week, we’ll start off with a warm up and then together, run/walk a circular route through Mote Park followed by a cool down. We’ll be alternating between walking and running as we build up stamina together over the course of the programme.

This first section will last about one hour.

Once back, participants are welcome to stay on for a chat with each other and our Wellbeing Coaches. During this time, we’ll be exploring different strategies you can use to manage and improve your wellbeing overall and we’ll also chat about how to stay safe whilst running and other techniques you can use to support your physical and mental health long term.

Do I have to be able to run to take part?

This is a beginners group so you don’t need to be a professional runner to take part; we’re looking at building confidence and stamina over the course of the programme as you become more active. We’ll discuss general fitness levels with you when we process your booking.

What do I need to wear?

Wear something you feel comfortable in for running. Whilst we don’t expect you to have proper running trainers, we do recommend you have suitable footwear that will support your ankle whilst running.
