Who is this course for?
Everyone! This session aims to build awareness of mental health in the workplace and also help people to understand the particular problems and challenges which they or others may be facing.
What will the course cover?
In this course, we will:
- Define what mental health is and understand the impact of mental health problems
- Understand how stress is a contributing factor to mental health
- Recognise the signs that someone may be experiencing some common mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression, and be able to support them
- Consider how to have an effective mental health conversation
- Signpost to appropriate mental health support
- Explore how you can support your own mental health and wellbeing

This can be adapted to be a 2 or 3-hour course, depending on your requirements.

Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for managers, team leaders and those working towards management responsibilities, to provide additional support and guidance.
What will the course cover?
This interactive course will build awareness of mental health whilst also equipping managers with realistic tools and techniques they can use to develop supportive workplace culture. This session covers everything from how to support members of a team who may be struggling, to managing the return-to-work process and making reasonable adjustments to accommodate it. In short – this is your managerial mental health toolkit!
In this course, we will:
- Identify what mental health is and why it matters to your organisation
- Understand the impact of stress on mental health, and good practice for prevention, intervention and supporting staff
- Explore the Thrive at Work Core Standards and how to implement them to develop a culture of workplace wellbeing
- Identify tools for self-care & action planning
- Share useful resources and signposting to local and national support
