London Marathon

Have you been inspired by the incredible individuals taking part in this year’s London Marathon? Have you ever dreamed of taking on one of the world’s most iconic races? Make every mile matter by registering to run the 2027 London Marathon for Mid Kent Mind. You wont just be just chasing a finish line, you’ll be changing lives.

We are excited to have a place available for the 2027 London Marathon. We are looking for someone who will not only be able to take on the challenge of running 26.2 miles, but who will also commit to raising at least £2500. Whilst this might seem daunting, we will be there throughout your training period, and on race day to cheer you on. You will be supported by our whole team.

How will Mid Kent Mind help me?

You will have a named contact throughout your training period to answer any of your questions and help you stay on track. We can provide you with plenty of top tips on how to achieve your fundraising goals as well as:

  • Personalised fundraising posters
  • Social media posts to encourage donations
  • A dedicated web page on our website celebrating your achievements
  • Raffle prizes, collection tins and bunting for events

You will also receive a personalised running vest, a limited edition Mid Kent Mind hoodie and your very own Mid Kent Mind superstar medal!

When do I have to have all the money by?

We recommend raising your £2500 across the whole year. A good timeline to work to is:

  • Raise 25% (£625) by 1st Dec
  • Raise 50% (£1,250) 50% by 1st Jan
  • Raise 75% (£1,875) 75% by 1st April
  • Raise the full amount (£2,500) due four weeks after race day

Setting up an online fundraising page is a great way for you to keep tabs on your total – people can donate directly to your page and you can also add offline donations from events so you can easily see how much you have raised.

How will Mid Kent Mind use the money I raise?

The £2500 you raise is going to make a HUGE difference to our work in the local community helping us reach even more people who are struggling with their mental health. It could help us launch a new wellbeing group for adults or continue our early intervention work with young people getting them the support they need, as soon as they need it.

As a local, independent charity, we rely on donations to be able to continue our work. Last year, we supported over 7000 individuals and we couldn’t have done that without the incredible generosity of people just like you!

How do I sign up?

If you are interested in being considered for this opportunity, then please click here and complete our enquiry form by 15th May. We will then review all applications and shortlisted candidates will be asked to come in for an informal chat so we can get to know you a bit better! We anticipate making a final decision by the 30th June.

If in the meantime, if you become eligible for a place through the open ballot, we would love for you to still be a part of the Mid Kent Mind marathon team! As an own place runner, there would be no minimum fundraising target but we would still be on hand to support you and cheer you on – just let our fundraising team know you’re an own place runner and we’ll add you to the team!
